One of ACTE’s most critical roles is representing the CTE field through advocacy activities, including direct lobbying, media relations and public awareness. This work promotes the value of CTE and the policies that are needed to support CTE practitioners, advance the field and improve student learning, but it has little value if it lacks a strong and consistent grassroots voice. We encourage you to use the information on these pages to become an active and engaged advocate for CTE!
In this section, you'll find background information on the key issues ACTE covers, the latest legislative updates, tips and tools to help you take action, information on Congressional supporters in the CTE Caucus and an opportunity to support ACTE's advocacy efforts through the CTE Support Fund.
ACTE Working for You!
ACTE & NASDCTEc Submit Joint Comments on "Race to the Top"
ACTE partnered with NASDCTEc to submit comments in response to the proposed grant criteria for over $4 billion in Race to the Top grants to states. Our goals were to ensure that CTE elements were included in the evaluation criteria and that CTE would be an integral part of reform efforts funded by the grants.
- ACTE Provides Resources on Economic Stimulus
ACTE has developed a special Web page to house resources on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and help you get all the information you need to efficiently and effectively access funds for CTE.
- Return-on-investment Fact Sheet
In response to growing demand for data that shows the effectiveness of investments in CTE, ACTE has collected research from across the country on CTE's return on investment at the local and state levels. Use this fact sheet to show policymakers the difference increased funding can make to your economy.
