2011 Board of Directors Nomination Information

The nomination process for ACTE’s Board of Directors opens April 1. Elections for the following positions will be held in December 2010:

  • President-Elect: Serves a one-year term beginning in July 2011 followed by one year as president and one year as past president.
  • Region I Vice President: Serves a three-year term beginning July 2011.
  • Marketing Education Division Vice President: Serves a three-year term beginning July 2011.
  • Adult Workforce Development Division Vice President-Elect: Serves a three-year term beginning July 2012.
  • Guidance and Career Development Division Vice President-Elect: Serves a three-year term beginning July 2012.
  • Health Science Education Division Vice President-Elect: Serves a three-year term beginning July 2012.

Applications are due June 15, 2010.  All nomination materials should be submitted electronically to Lauren Lessels at llessels@acteonline.org.  If you are interested in serving your profession as a member of the ACTE Board of Directors and have questions, or wish to nominate someone with leadership abilities, please contact Lauren Lessels at the e-mail address listed above or 703-683-9315.  A summary of Board Responsibilities can be found here.

Election Timing Changes
In order to accommodate a December election, the nomination process/timeline is changing as follows:

  • Nominations for the 2011 election will begin April 1, 2010.
  • Nominations for the 2011 election are due June 15, 2010.
  • Voting will open during Convention on Friday, December 3, 2010 and will remain open for 30 days. For the 2011 election, voting will take place in the month of December 2010.
  • Winners will be announced the week of January 1, 2011.

Please note these changes and plan accordingly.
