Current and Previous Award Winners

Purpose
This award is presented annually by the ACTE Board of Directors to nationally recognized policymakers who have made a contribution of national significance to career and technical education.

Criteria and Eligibility
The award is presented to the individual or individuals who are determined to have made the most significant impact on policy related to career and technical education either during the past year or over an extended career of public service. (The award is not limited to one recipient.) The award is open to individuals having decision-making authority as evidenced by public or legal sanctions.

Application Procedures
Nominations may come from the Board of Directors, the ACTE Public Policy Department or from ACTE members; each nominee from the membership must be endorsed or sponsored by an association, agency, group, several individuals or a combination of these.

Groups nominating an individual for this award should submit a cover letter stating the nominee’s qualifications for the award and include supporting information listing significant legislative and other appropriate accomplishments related to career and technical education.

Deadline
Nominations for the 2011 award are due by Oct. 31, 2011. The Board of Directors will select the award recipient in November 2011, and the award will be presented in Washington, DC, during the 2012 National Policy Seminar. For more information, please contact Jamie Baxter at 703-683-9337.
