The ACTE Image Award is presented by the ACTE Board of Directors to recognize "celebrity" individuals who have brought positive attention to the career and technical education field, thereby enhancing the image of career and technical education and career and technical educators.
EligibilityRecipients of the award must be widely recognized persons—such as entertainment, sports and business celebrities—who have demonstrated by their actions and/or statements that they are supporters of career and technical education. It must be shown that the field of career and technical education clearly benefits through association with the nominee.
The ACTE Executive Director and Executive Committee will determine how many Image Awards are presented in any year and at which events they will be presented.
The nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Nominations will be submitted electronically between February 1, 2010 and February 28, 2010 through the online form on the ACTE Web site dedicated to this award. How has the nominee enhanced the image of CTE?
Based on the nominations, up to five of the nominees will be selected as possible candidates and will be placed on the ACTE Web site to be voted on through May 7, 2010. Candidates will be selected based on their level of contributions to career and technical education. People who have made national contributions will be most highly rated.
