ACTE Excellence Awards

ACTE Image Award

Purpose
To recognize individuals and entities that have brought positive attention to the field of career and technical education, thereby enhancing the image of CTE and its educators.

Eligibility
Recipients of the award must be widely recognized individuals, organizations, companies, or other entities that have demonstrated by action, and/or statements that they are supporters of career and technical education. It must be apparent that the field of career and technical education clearly benefits through association with the nominee.

Criteria
The nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • significant contributions at national and international level
  • activities that have enhanced the image of career and technical education and/or educators

Nomination Procedure
Nominations may come from the Board of Directors or from ACTE members.

Application Requirements
All applications must include the following:

  1. Nomination Form
  2. Cover letter summarizing the following with regards to the nominee:
    1. significant contributions to CTE at national and international levels
    2. activities that have enhanced the image of CTE and/or its educators
  3. Photo: Should be digital, high resolution (at least 300dpi), and submitted in .jpg format. Files 2MB or larger are preferred. (The photo will be used for publicity purposes only)

All applications should be submitted electronically in word format to awards@acteonline.org by May 7, 2013. Awards will be presented to winners at the Awards Banquet during CareerTech VISION 2013 in Las Vegas.

Changes to the ACTE Excellence Awards

In an effort to make the ACTE Excellence Awards more accessible for our members and more manageable for our state associations, we have made some significant changes to the awards, the applications, and the application process! The highlights of these changes can be found in our "Changes to the ACTE Excellence Awards" flyer. Detailed information on these changes and the transition is outlined below.  These changes go into effect beginning Jan. 1, 2014.

ACTE Business of the Year

Businesses and organizations that have excelled in contributing to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of CTE are eligible recipients of this award. All applicants must be nominated by an ACTE member.
