Purpose
The ACTE Image Award is presented by the ACTE Board of Directors to recognize individuals, organizations, companies or other entities that have brought positive attention to the career and technical education field, thereby enhancing the image of career and technical education and career and technical educators.

Eligibility
Recipients of the award must be widely recognized individuals, organizations, companies, or other entities that have demonstrated by action, and/or statements that they are supporters of career and technical education. It must be shown that the field of career and technical education clearly benefits through association with the nominee.

The ACTE executive director and executive committee will determine how many Image Awards are presented in any year and at which events they will be presented.

The nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • significant contributions at national and international level 
  • activities that have enhanced the image of career and technical education and/or educators 

Application Procedures
Nominations may come from the Board of Directors or from ACTE members. Individuals or groups nominating an individual or entity for this award should submit a cover letter stating the nominee's qualifications for the award and include supporting information listing significant and appropriate accomplishments related to career and technical education.

For nominations, e-mail the following:

  1. your ACTE ID # and name
  2. the nominee’s name 
  3. a cover letter describing the activities that have been performed by the nominee to enhance the image of career and technical education

Nominations for the 2013 award are due by May 7, 2012. The Board of Directors will select the award reciept in July 2012, and the award will be presented during the CareerTech VISION 2012.
