ACTE Excellence Awards

Business Advocate of the Year

Purpose
This award recognizes individuals or companies that have significantly contributed to the recognition of career and technical education within the policymaking arena.

Eligibility
The award is presented to the individual or corporation that is determined to have made the most significant impact on policy related to career and technical education either during the past year or over an extended period of time.

Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • legislative accomplishments related to CTE
  • other appropriate accomplishments related to CTE

Nomination Procedure
Nominations may come from the ACTE Board of Directors, ACTE state associations, the ACTE Public Policy Department or from ACTE members; each nominee from the membership must be endorsed or sponsored by an association, agency, group, several individuals or a combination of these. 

Application Requirements
All applications must include the following:

  1. Nomination Form
  2. Cover letter briefly summarizing the nominee's background and qualifications
  3. Support information: Please summarize the following with regards to the nominee:
    1. legislative accomplishments related to CTE
    2. other appropriate accomplishments related to CTE
  4. Photo/logo: Should be digital, high resolution (at least 300dpi), and submitted in .jpg format. Files 2MB or larger are preferred. (The photo will be used for publicity purposes only.)

All applications must be submitted electronically in word format to awards@acteonline.org by May 7, 2013. Awards will be presented to winners at the Awards Banquet during CareerTech VISION 2013 in Las Vegas.
