New Ideas Committee – FY08 Appointment and Objectives

New Ideas Committee Representatives

STAFF LIAISON: Peter Magnuson
MEMBERS: One Representatives from each Division and Region

1. MISSION

To ensure the ongoing development of diverse programs and services offered by ACTE that are relevant, innovative, inclusive, and valuable to all members and the career and technical education profession.

2. AUTHORITY
This is a committee appointed under procedures adopted pursuant with Article 8.1 of the Bylaws.

3. COMPOSITION, SELECTION & TERM

3.1 The Committee is composed of one representative from each ACTE Region and Division, plus a Chairperson.

3.2 The term of office is the Association’s operating year. Members serve for a two-year period and can serve up to two terms.

3.3 The Committee elects their Chair with approval of the Board of Directors. The Chair serves for a one-year term.

3.4 The Region and Division Vice President appoints their committee representative.

3.5 There are no special eligibility requirements to serve on this Committee.

4. OBJECTIVES

4.1 To identify potential new programs and services to meet the evolving needs of the membership.

4.2 To determine the feasibility of new programs through a variety of research avenues.

4.3 To evaluate the effectiveness of ACTE programs and services.
