Awards Committee – FY08 Appointment and Objectives

To ensure the recognition of outstanding achievements by individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the career and technical education field, to programs that exemplify the highest standards and to organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand career and technical education.
2.1 This is a committee appointed under procedures adopted pursuant with Article 8.1 of the Bylaws.
3.1 The Committee is composed of one representative from each ACTE Region and a Chairperson.
3.2 The term of office is the Association’s operating year. Members serve for a two-year period and can serve up to two terms.
3.3 The Committee elects their Chair with approval of the Board of Directors. The Chair serves for a one-year term.
3.4 The Region Vice President appoints their committee representative.
3.5 There are no special eligibility requirements to serve on this Committee.
3.6 Members of the Awards Committee are not eligible, during their service to this Committee, to receive an award.
4.1 Develop and administer an awards program for the Carl Perkins Humanitarian Award, Arch of Fame, Award of Merit, Image Award, Outstanding Service Award, Teacher of the Year, Outstanding Career and Technical Educator, Outstanding Teacher in Community Service and Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher and other awards approved by the Board.
4.2 To identify and recommend to the Board of Directors new avenues for recognizing achievement in the profession and the association.
