2006 VRI Award Winner

Joe Davis of Gilmer of Gilmer County High School in Elijay, Georgia was awarded  Vocational Research Institute (VRI) Outstanding Special Needs Educator each year at the ACTE National Convention held in Atlanta. Pat Vencill, past president of SND, along with Eric David, president of VRI presented a check for $500 and a plaque to Joe for his continued dedication to the Special Needs programs.

2006 VALPAR Award Winner

Kristy Baumgartner heads up the ACE program at Chaparral High School in Parker, Colorado. Kristy’s innovative team approach to assist potential drop-outs earned her the award for VALPAR Outstanding Special Needs Program of the year. Surrounded by her supporters, Pat Vencill, awarded her with a check for $300 and a plaque for her life long commitment to our students as they prepare for the world of work.
